I don't know why some people are so poor at Geography? Is it just plain ignorance, or poor education? I was so gobsmacked when a colleague of mine assumed that the Philippines is in South America and no idea that it is in Asia, in the Pacific.
Bless her, she's ever so nice and so innocent when we talked. I tried to explain to her where the Philippines is and how beautiful the country is! Our conversation steams from our dream of winning the lottery and where we would settle our winnings haha.. I don't if Geography is her strongest interest in school but when i was at school i've always been interested in World History and that's why Geography is one of my best subjects!
I've always known about the seven continents and how diverse these places are! When you're young you dream about travelling and going to all these beautiful places! What's it like conquering the Everest, how many days could it take you to walk round the Great Wall of China, explore the Grand Canyon or just simply see the Big Ben in London?!
Well, we would never know the answers to these questions because seeing these places, needs a lot of money, yeah like winning the lottery! But if we're very interested about the world we live in, we can now always enjoy it in the comforts of our own home! You need not go to the library and open all those books! You can just simply Google a place and learn which part of the Earth it is! That easy! But if you're an admirer of going out and seeing beautiful places like me, go out there and see for yourselves! The world awaits you!
